Color industrial cameras and black and white industrial cameras have very different application scenarios and technical advantages in industrial automation, quality inspection, scientific research and other fields.
Industrial camera principle:
1. Color industrial camera: Bayer Filter array is used to restore the three primary colors of RGB through interpolation algorithm; single pixel only captures monochrome light and needs to be calculated to synthesize color images; dynamic range is usually 60-70dB.
2. Black and white industrial camera: directly output the gray value (single channel); each pixel receives the optical signal completely, the sensitivity is increased by about 3 times; the dynamic range is up to 70-90dB, and some high-end models are more than 100dB.

Color industrial cameras can be used for surface defect detection: ① PCB board solder joint color identification (solder/copper foil color difference analysis); ② metal surface oxidation/rust detection (red rust and black spot distinction); ③ food packaging sealing strip color verification (in line with brand standards).
2. Color industrial cameras can be used for barcode and character recognition: ① multi-color barcode decoding (UPC / EAN with background color); ② ink printing register detection (CMYK four-color alignment); ③ document anti-counterfeiting logo verification (special ink response).
3. Color industrial cameras can be used for biomedical testing: ① cell culture dish colony counting (distinguish between colonies and medium color); ② blood smear staining analysis (Gram staining characteristics identification); ③ endoscopic image enhancement (blood vessels and tissue contrast optimization).
4. Black and white industrial cameras can be used for high-precision dimensional measurement: ① precision parts contour scanning (sub-pixel edge extraction); ② transparent glass thickness measurement (backlight imaging); ③ chip pin coplanarity detection (Z-axis deformation analysis).
5. Black and white industrial cameras can be used for high-speed motion monitoring: ① real-time detection of bearing ball surface defects (3000fps); ② high-speed sorting system positioning (encoder synchronization trigger).
