A vision inspection lens is an optical device used in a machine vision inspection system that converts image information on the surface of an object into electrical signals so that a computer can process and analyze the information. Compared with ordinary lenses, vision inspection lenses have significant differences in clarity, spectral transmittance, aberration rate and many other aspects.

 

 

Clarity: visual inspection lens in the center of the imaging surface resolution is the highest, even if the edge of the clarity is also maintained at a high level. In contrast, ordinary lenses in the center of the resolution can basically meet the clarity at the same time, the edge of the clarity will be much lower.

 

Spectral transmittance: vision inspection lens has a wide frequency light transmittance ability, can greatly improve the camera target surface of the amount of light, enhance the contrast and brightness of the screen, the performance of a richer picture details.

 

Aberration rate: industrial vision inspection lenses can achieve ultra-low distortion or even zero distortion, which is critical for high-precision job detection. The distortion rate of ordinary lenses is generally designed to be between 2% and 3%.

 

 

 

The working principle of visual inspection lenses is based on convex lens imaging, in which light emitted or reflected from an object is imaged on the image plane (coinciding with the chip surface) by a combination of lenses. This imaging process combines several steps such as optical imaging, photoelectric conversion, signal processing, digital encoding and data transmission.

 

 

Vision inspection lenses can be categorized into various types based on different parameters such as focal length, aperture, and field of view:

 

 

Fixed Focus Lens: Fixed focal length for applications requiring a fixed field of view and magnification.

 

Zoom Lens: Focal length is adjustable, changing the field of view and magnification by adjusting the focal length.

 

Macro Lens: Shorter focal length and higher magnification, suitable for shooting tiny objects.
